Goingtomedschool.com is run by Jennifer Isaacs.
I graduated from the University of Texas at Dallas in May 2012 with my Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration. I am currently applying to medical school in the United States for entry in August 2013. I took an online MCAT course through Kaplan and sat the MCAT on September 7, 2012.
Additionally, I worked as a medical scribe at numerous local hospitals where I saw many things about which I occasionally blog. In my spare time I spend time with my husband, read books, and play with my cat. I more frequently provide updates on twitter via the handle going2medschool. If you are not using Twitter, yet, you should definitely consider joining and letting me know more about yourself!
I began this website so I can provide advice to others who are a little lost along the way. I initially entered college with the hopes to apply to medical school and become a doctor. When I didn’t make all As I became discouraged and decided that this pathway wasn’t right for me; so I joined the school of business. However, after a year and a half in business, I realized that I still wanted to be a doctor, and that I shouldn’t just give up because of the shortcomings in my application. Although I knew it was a long shot, I applied to medical school once without success. I am doing the VCU Premed Postbac program from August 2013 to May 2013 and will be applying to medical school again with hopes to matriculate in 2015.
There are so many websites out there with overachievers and perfect applicants. There is so much competition between pre-meds, and I hope that goingtomedschool.com can give you a sound piece of mind when you too, are planning on Going to Med School.
