Applying
Students must have a Bachelor’s degree from the United States or Canada. Loma Linda is affiliated with the Seventh-Day Adventist Church and thus preference is given to applicants who are members of the Church. From their website: “it is a firm policy of the Admissions Committee to admit each year a number of non-church related applicants who have demonstrated a commitment to Christian principles and are best suited for meeting the educational goals of the School”

International applicants must have completed at least one year of study in the United States before applying and provide evidence of sufficient funds for all medical school expenses.

Everyone receives a secondary application once the primary application is received.

Loma Linda offers an Early Decision Program; applications are due by August 1st and decisions are made by October 1st.

General Chemistry w/Lab 2 semesters or 3 quarters
General Biology (or Zoology) w/Lab 2 semesters or 3 quarters
Mathematics (Calculus recommended) 2 semesters or 3 quarters
Organic Chemistry w/Lab 2 semesters or 3 quarters
General Physics w/Lab 2 semesters or 3 quarters

CLEP, Pass/Fail, and online coursework are not accepted for the required courses.

Biochemistry and Introductory Statistics are strongly recommended. As well, Loma Linda likes to see that you have taken English (as required by your undergrad degree plan) and Religion & Ethics, if it is was offered in undergrad.

Interviews
There are two one-on-one interviews on campus on Interview Day.

Uniqueness: During the pre-clinical years, students take courses in Religion & Whole Person Care. As well, the school’s mission is “continue the healing and teaching ministry of Jesus Christ to make man whole.”
